OK. I have a question. Can I use the Patone number from your color charts to match thread recommendations from designs done with another thread manufacturer's Pantone number? I thought it might be a good idea, but their card and your card give multiple threads for the same Pantone number? I don't understand how the same number can be assigned to more than one thread color. I've never been able to match up colors - I can't see the subtle differences between shades close in color.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
ME
The PANTONE® matches on the back of the Madeira Classic rayon and Polyneon polyester color cards are approved by PANTONE®. Some thread colors are so close that PANTONE® will match more than one thread color to the same PANTONE® number.
ReplyDeleteYou can view the most up to date PANTONE matches under the Services Library on Madeira’s website.
I'm sure this information is on the website somewhere, but I can't find it.. what size needle do I use with Madeira Polyneon 40 wt. thread... I'm using it on a wrapped cord (clothesline & batik) project. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFor Polyneon 40 weight thread it is standard practice to use the #75/11 needle. If you are a more experienced embroiderer, you may also use the #65/9, which will give your design a crisper look.
ReplyDeletepolyneon thread # that would be sugested for Ivory color?
ReplyDeleteColor names are up for interpretation, but I would suggest using color # 1949. If you would like a Polyneon color card you may request it on our contact us page of Madeirausa.com and we will be happy to send you one.
ReplyDeleteIt is too much informative and i did not know about it before reading it. I liked it very much.

I would like to find what color the thread is not go by the number. Changing from Robinson Anton to Madeira thread.
ReplyDeleteColor Names are a 2013 project at Madeira USA…but just to share the task, a contest will begin that will invite customers to share their ideas for naming the solid colors of #40 Classic Rayon and Polyneon. The final details of the project are coming together now, and an announcement – and contest rules – will be shared in January. This decision was made based on the requests of customers like yourself, who would find the use of names helpful.
